The University Health Network GU (Genitourinary) BioBank at The Princess Margaret
The GU BioBank is a central repository of blood and urine samples obtained from consenting participants attending clinics within the GU Oncology division. Biological samples stored with the GU BioBank are used in future research studies that aim to increase our understanding of urologic diseases (in particular cancer) and discover new ways of diagnosing and managing disease.
Following consent, participants will be asked to provide blood and/or urine specimens on one or more occasions. This research is suitable for most men and women who attend The Princess Margaret clinics for genitourinary health concerns. Participation in this research is also available to friends and family members (healthy volunteers) who accompany patients to their clinic visit.
If you are interested in participating or have questions regarding the research studies that are making use of this resource, please contact the GU BioBank Manager.
