Regular physical activity
and exercise contributes to a healthy lifestyle and may play an important role in the prevention of the onset and recurrence of prostate cancer. Similar to the importance of a healthy diet, recent research has identified a sedentary lifestyle as a modifiable risk factor for prostate cancer. Additionally, studies investigating the effects of exercise on prostate cancer treatment outcomes show promising results for improving quality of life and reducing treatment side effects.
Health Canada recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity on most days of the week. This can be achieved through simple modification of daily habits.
