- Only 9 facilities in Ontario offer radiation therapy
- Side effects of radiation:
- Impotence (50%)
- Urinary frequency & urgency (1-5%)
- Rectal bleeding (5-10%)
- The prostate is not removed
(possibility of tumor regrowth)
- Failures cannot be treated with surgery
