Mind & body: resources

Your mental attitude influences how your body responds to illness. Often our immediate reaction to illness is to deny the seriousness of it and to repress any emotions we may experience in association with it. While this is a legitimate response, over the long term this outlook may lead to greater anxiety and worsen your physical health.

Just as the body responds negatively to high levels of anxiety or stress, so may it respond positively to an improved mental attitude. Developing positive coping skills is an important step in actively dealing with prostate cancer.

On the right are a list of resources to help get you started.
