Study of Reduction of Fatigue in Prostate Cancer Patients Receiving Hormone Therapy

This study looks at the effectiveness of a drug called methylphenidate in reduction of fatigue related to hormone therapy treatment for prostate cancer.

The study is suitable for men who:

  • Are less than 85 years of age
  • Are either starting hormone therapy or who have already been on hormones for 6 months or more
  • Have a stable or decreasing PSA
  • Have not had chemotherapy within the last 5 years
  • Have not had a heart attack within the past 6 months
  • Have not suffered from severe depression
  • Do not have a history of motor tics, seizures
  • Have no family history of Tourette’s syndrome
